DJ Diary Entry: If I don’t promote me, who will?

Far too often individuals don’t do enough to toot their own horn or pat themselves on the back for a job well done. We tend to wait for others to tell us how good we are and have them celebrate us.

Now, I would like to think that I am a very modest person with the ability to sell myself and who I am in a non-boastful way. At the end of the day, the reality is this: NO ONE can sell me better than me! I need to take more stock in my personal self and give me more credit for the things I do well.

Why should I sell myself short and miss out on opportunities because I decided to sit still when I should have been in someone’s door way jumping up and down like I was on fire?

The perfect example is DJ. I might be the quietest DJ in Houston. I let others speak for me and share the good news about DJ Ferbidden when in fact, I have not been doing all that I can to sell me.

Where does that leave me? It leaves me with the notion that I need to leverage my relationships, former clients and DJ skills to advance by business to another level.

I need to round out my brand beyond a business card. I have identified the key creatives that will take me to Ferbidden 2.0 in a stylish and classy way of course. You would be surprised the help that people are willing to lend you if you just ask them for assistance and present them with your plan.

So, here is my brand update. Things are coming along well. You may have noticed some very subtle change around this blog…stay tuned and keep your eyes WIDE OPEN for some noticeable additions. I think the timing is finally right.
