Answer to frequently asked questions from customers
Why should I hire a DJ?
A DJ sets the tone and mode for any occasion allowing you to focus and enjoy the main purpose for you event. No one likes white noise, so music should be an accompaniment that is the right tempo and volume level for your activity.
While there are many electronic options, including iPods, digital radio stations and laptops, they all require some type of equipment and hands-on attention with little to no ability to transition from song to song without interruption. Lastly, the playlist may not be tailored specifically to your needs or may not fit the crowd.
Will you be the DJ for our event?
Yes, DJ Ferbidden is the only DJ. Ferbidden Entertainment is a sole proprietorship, not an agency that farms out DJs. This DJ service is built on personal relationships and trust. I do have partners who help me manage Ferbidden Entertainment’s bookings, books, and website maintenance.
Do you play "clean" music?
Yes. Unless otherwise discussed, only clean or edited radio versions of all songs will be played at your event. Songs considered to be suggestive or sexually explicit are available upon request.
What if we want a song that you don't have?
Every effort will be made to acquire any specific song you request at no additional charge to you. Ideally, such a request should be presented well in advance of the event date, clearly labeling the specific song name, artist, and album title. It is possible that several versions of the same song exist. On rare occasions, we may not have a last-minute request in the repertoire, but we make every attempt to work in additional special requests.
Do you provide lights?
Yes. One strobe light is included with most night time events. Additional lights may be provided as part of a value-added package for your event.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, money orders, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and PayPal. Personal checks are accepted one week before the event only.
If we have a band, will you DJ during their breaks?
Yes, it is very common that events include both a DJ and a band. We will plan and work together to complement each other versus potentially playing contrasting music.
What will you wear?
Attire will be event appropriate and will be determined as soon as your event is booked. Typical attire is business casual to formal and never athletic wear. For themed events, we dress up and blend into the crowd.
Will you announce the wedding party?
Yes, it’s included in your wedding package cost. We plan this part out with you well in advance; announcing your grand entrance is not the time for errors and mispronouncing names.
Are you insured?
Ferbidden Entertainment carries commercial general liability insurance through Scottsdale Insurance Company.
Insurance is typically not an issue considering all public facilities require insurance to operate, but if additional insurance is required, those details can be discussed.
We need you to "get the party started." Can you do that?
Of course! You’ll always be the center of attention, but DJ Ferbidden is known for the MC skills, having that special knack to interact with the crowd, keep them engaged, and dancing from song to song.
Can you provide references?
In addition to the testimonials on scrolling on the homepage, several reviews are available for your consideration on Wedding Wire.
Are you willing to Travel?
Ferbidden Entertainment will bring the sound wherever you are.
We do require advance notice and a formal contract outlining all of the details. There are no geographical limits or bounds. If outside the state of Texas, all contracts will be enforced by Texas law.
If we have a band, will you DJ as well?
Yes, it is widespread that events include both a DJ and a ban. We will plan and work together to complement each other versus potentially playing contrasting music.
Do you have wireless microphones?
Yes, we supply four wireless microphones in the standard event package.
Will you accept "play" and " do not play" list?
Absolutely! You are paying for a service. Just provide a list with the name of the artist with song title and any specific version of a song. For example, you may only want to play the extended version or the clean version.
Songs on a “do not play” list will not be played at all.
